Oh, Palm. It does feel like deja vu. Palm announced their quarterly financial results last week — the results were underwhelming, and the projections are quite bleak. In summary, Palm made a loss of $22 million for the quarter. The biggest news was that while Palm shipped 960,000 smartphones, they only managed to sell through 408,000 units. In other words, they were way overoptimistic about their sales projections.

We asked the question, and now we have the answer. Apple has announced that the new Apple iPad device will be launched on 4th April 2010. Lucky US-based folks will be able to pre-order from the Apple Online Store, or reserve their unit for pickup from an Apple Store, starting next week on March 12th.

When will we see the Apple iPad?

By now, we’ve heard so much about the iPad, yet we still know very little. Personally, I’m excited to see what kind of applications will be available for the larger screen. Steve Jobs promised 60 days for the WiFi-only version of the iPad. So will Apple make the deadline?
