Palm mobile portal adds podcasts

Palm’s new mobile portal (mobile.palm.com) now has support for podcasts.  Thanks to Palm’s partner VoiceIndigo,  users of the newer Palm smartphones (Treo 700p, 700w/wx, and the upcoming Treo 750v) will be able to discover, listen to and share podcasts.  Some of the podcasting features include :
– Browse podcasts by category
– Search for podcasts by keywords
– Create personal audio channels (e.g., MyComedy, MyManchesterUnited)
– Share podcasts and channels with friends
– Rate podcasts

New functionality for Bloglines Mobile

Bloglines Mobile

I have mentioned before that my favourite RSS feed aggregator, for the desktop and for my Treo, is Bloglines. All the entries in my feed collection are automatically synced up between all my devices. Now it has been improved and upgraded in a small, yet very useful way.

Introducing Treo Today Mobile Edition

I’m pleased to introduce a new feature on Treo Today – the Treo Today Mobile Edition.  This is the version you’ll want to bookmark on your Treo’s Blazer web browser.  The Mobile Edition will show the latest blog post, as well as links to the last 10 posts.  In most mobile web browsers, it will automatically detect and divert you to the Mobile Edition when you visit the Treo Today home page.

"River of news" on your Treo

My primary RSS reader/aggregator is Bloglines.  The best feature of Bloglines is that it automatically keeps track of what I read, so there’s no duplication when I switch between my Treo and my iBook.   The main problem with most RSS readers is the sheer volume of posts – if you miss a day, then it can get overwhelming.  What if you just want the latest news?  The Godfather of RSS, Dave Winer, has something new up his sleeve.  He has come up with a “river of news” style view, which is a great way to view RSS feeds on mobile devices such as the Blackberry and the Treo.
